Duties and Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility
• A familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is beneficial.
• Ability to teach and assist students with completing assigned tasks and classwork.
• Assist in monitoring student progress towards set learning goals and provide feedback, guidance and reinforce taught concepts where necessary.
• Offer an extra-curricular activity to students.
Social and behavioural support
• The Mathematics teacher will provide social and behavioural support, evidenced by fostering a respectful, positive, safe, student-centred environment that is conducive to learning.
• Assisting with safe transitions and supervision of students.
• Supervise, observe and encourage positive student behaviour in a developmentally appropriate way and in keeping with the values of our school.
• Supervise students during field trips and at school assemblies.
• Assist with duties as required.
• Dialogue with the Head of Department / Head of Secondary regarding student academic progress and behaviour.
Requirements:
Qualification and Experience
• Master's degree in a Mathematics-related subject.
• PGCE (with QTS preferable) / iPGCE or an equivalent teaching license from home country.
• A minimum of two years of recent successful teaching experience in an educational setting as a Mathematics teacher is preferred.
• Able to speak and write like a first-language English speaker.
• Strong organisational skills.
• A lifelong learner who is willing to learn and use teaching methods, techniques, and procedures in the classroom.
