Early Years Homeroom Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities:
• To motivate and stimulate a child's learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience.
• To provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment.
• To assist with the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities.
• To develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources.
• To encourage mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play.
• To help children develop curiosity and knowledge.
• To work with others, including teaching assistants and co-teacher, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors.
• To share knowledge gained with other practitioners and build and maintain relationships with parents.
• To observe, assess and record each child's progress.
• To prepare learning journey for each child in your class per semester.
• To ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting.
• To attend staff meetings and staff training days.
• To keep up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
• After school bus duty
• Arrival/Departure responsibilities
• Play duty
• School Newsletter responsibility
• Committee responsibility
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Early Years Education or another relevant field
• PGCE or equivalent teaching license
• 2 years’ successful experience as an Early Years Homeroom Teacher
• Clear knowledge of child development in Early Years
