Welcome to NBIS
As the new International Principal, I am delighted to welcome all students, families and staff to our school. NBIS is very much a community in its own right, and we are a truly international school. Our wonderful 20thAnniversary celebrations earlier this year were a testament to the special nature of NBIS. Students, staff, parents and Zhejiang Wan Li Education Group (WEG) all worked together to produce an outstanding tribute to the journey from a school of just 6 students in 2005 to today’s thriving school of around 530 students from over fifty nationalities. Having worked as part of WEG since 2020 and in Ningbo since 2017, I am very familiar with both NBIS and WEG as a whole.
My colleagues and I believe in the pursuit of excellence, and this is reflected in our school motto – unity, diversity, excellence. We are relentless in our pursuit of self-improvement. In addition to internal links within WEG, we also plan to establish links with other international schools and universities both inside and outside China. The high-tech zone in which NBIS is situated is a thriving and developing area, with our school very much at the centre of this economic hub.
At NBIS, our teaching team is composed of highly qualified professionals, all of whom are graduates of top universities around the world and have extensive experience in their subject areas. We implement a small-class teaching model across all levels. From Early Years to Year 6, each class is led by both an international teacher and a Chinese co-teacher, ensuring bilingual support and a nurturing learning environment. In the Secondary Section, all subjects are taught by specialist teachers with strong academic backgrounds, guaranteeing both subject depth and international standards.
Parents are actively involved in our school through the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the elected members of the School Advisory Council (SAC). This year, we warmly encourage you to enjoy special events such as our Drama Festival, Chinese Culture Day, Family Picnic and Art Exhibition, to name but a few. We also have excellent and continuously developing STEM facilities, which enable us to participate in activities such as the international F1 Design A Car Competition.
Our school follows the Cambridge Curriculum from Primary Checkpoint all the way through to A Levels in Year 13. We are also an approved HSK Examination centre.
If you are considering joining our school, please contact the admissions department, who will be happy to assist you in arranging a visit to the school.
