Staff at NBIS endeavour to contact parents/guardians in case of medical emergency. However , it may not be possible. Therefore we ask permission to seek medical advice and treatment for the student if we: believe the nature of injury/illness warrants immediate professional intervention and we cannot contact parents. In such situations parents/guardians are required to pay all costs incurred by the school.We ask parents to authorise the school to administer minor medications or provide first aid treatment if deemed necessary by school staff.

Excursions
Learning can often be enhanced by involving students in excursions such as an escorted walk to a nearby site or trips further afield by bus. The school will endeavour always to give prior notice of any such excursions and at that time again seek permission for their child’s participation. Transport
Transport to and from school can be arranged for day students. A fee applies. A NBIS staff member as well as the driver accompanies students. A condition of travel is that students have parent/guardian permission to travel on the school bus and that they wear a seat belt or are placed in a safety capsule.
