+1. What type of school is NBIS?
Ningbo British International School (NBIS) is a non-selective Pre-School to Year 13 co-educational school located in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, Eastern China. There are around 530 students from 50 countries and areas. Students are aged 2-18 yrs.
+2. Can Chinese citizens attend NBIS?
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, Chinese citizens cannot attend NBIS as the school is only licensed for admitting foreign passport holders.

NBIS is an authorized Cambridge School and Examination Centre, following the Cambridge International Curriculum throughout.
+4. What is the student teacher ratio in the classroom?
Class sizes are capped to be as low as practically possible, and we have 2 homeroom teachers per class up to Year 13. Holding degrees from well-credentialed universities, our international teaching team consists of highly qualified and experienced teachers whose first language is English. Working alongside them, we have a team of excellent Chinese teachers whose first responsibility is to teach Chinese but whose contribution extends to many other areas of school life. Over 50% of teachers hold post-graduate degrees.
+5. Are there any examinations or assessments for students during their studies?
Yes. We offer Cambridge Progression Tests from Y3, Cambridge Checkpoint Test in Y6 and Y9, IGCSE Examinations in Y11, and A Level Examinations in Y13. NBIS also provides a formal report each Semester.
+6. What are the tuition fees of NBIS?
New student tuition for Early Years is 6-70,000 RMB per semester, Primary school tuition is 7-90,000 RMB per semester, and Secondary school tuition is 9-100,000 RMB per semester.
+7. Does the school provide lunch and transportation?
Yes. We provide lunch and a Yellow School Bus Service. We currently have 8 Yellow School Buses which all follow different bus routes around Ningbo.

Yes. NBIS offers a wide range of Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) including Field Hockey, Boxing, Choir, Golf, Tennis, Football, Latin Dance, Model United Nations, STEM clubs, etc.

Yes. NBIS offers Boarding Service for students in Y7-13.
